uXu (pronounced 'ushu'), is a Medicine Music band, deeply rooted in the reverence of ancestors and ancient wisdom. Their name, derived from the Amazonian tribal word for ‘Moon’, reflects their commitment to honoring traditional cultures. uXu masterfully blends Amazonian tribal chants, Sufi mysticism, and Eastern mantras into a rich, cross-cultural tapestry. Their music pays homage to time-honored practices, creating an immersive experience that connects listeners with profound ancestral knowledge and transformative rhythms. STORY
uXu was born from a network of artists and musicians with a profound love for medicine music. In the recent years, we have responded to a calling towards ancient customs and wisdom of Amazonian tribes like the Huni Kuin, Shananawa, and Yawanawa, as well as the enchanting mantras from Sufi and other Eastern traditions.
